![]() I donât know what youâre picturing when youâre thinking Yakima and Bainbridge, but they really arenât places Iâd recommend in your case. Honestly, Iâm just not a fan of your plan. Normally Iâd be all for the east side, but I donât think it works great for your group. AS is an old schoolâthey have a great pool, restaurants, tiki bar, movie theater, all kinds of live music, they carry local wines and their own beers in their pub. McMenamins is a local hotel group, fits your interesting lodging idea, revamped historic buildings. You could even go up to Bothell to stay at the McMenamins Anderson School Which is near woodinville. Maybe even south to the columbia river gorge areaâHood River is a nice town. Maybe go to whidbey island, San Juanâs, la Conner, Bellingham, etc. If you donât want to drive as far as Walla Walla, stick to the west side. Yakima is.well, thereâs not much I love about Yakima in general, but I really donât enjoy it in the summer. For another, it has a great park, a relatively shady downtown, is very kid friendly and compact. For one, it has a very new, fantastic public pool. Theyâre both hot as heck in the summer but if I had to choose one, Iâd go for Walla Walla in a heartbeat. Ok.I grew up in Walla Walla and am familiar with Yakima. In addition, in Silverdale, Oak Table Cafe was rated the #1 breakfast spot in W. ![]() It would take about 45min from Bainbridge but there's a drive-in movie theater in Bremerton if you're looking for something a 3yr old might find fun and entertaining. Also, I promise there are no snakes or cougars in the area. Now that I say that, I don't know of any 3yr old that hikes so you probably have a backpack or something for that! Wilderness Creek Trailhead at Cougar Mountain is a nice easy one, if I remember correctly. People who don't hike can do Rattlesnake Ridge, though I'm hesitant to say a 3yr old could do it. Hitchcook is a restaurant that has been on my list to try there as well. There's a really cute children's toy store along the main strip in Bainbridge that we always stop at. It just might be cheaper to take the ferry once, just for the party, then to take it multiple times to go out and explore. It's kinda boring but if you're looking to just chill, then it's perfect. We take a ferry once a year to go to a specific restaurant on Bainbridge but otherwise, we never know what to do. There are so many wineries/wine shops and therefore, sooooo many bachelorette parties! I personally have never been to Yakima or Walla Walla (I know I'm missing out) but Woodinville is the wine area near Seattle. ![]() The above is a rough idea of what we'd like to do, but we're open to suggestions, and we really dont want to feel like we are rushing around trying to do a million things.Īny advice welcome, suggestions for websites or other places to look also welcome. There is SO much info out there that I'm not even sure where to start in putting this trip together. Hansville is a 40 min drive from Bainbridge so we figured we'd base in Bainbridge and drive there and back just for the party. ![]() We'd like to do a few days in Seattle (have friends to visit there as well), and some wine country (i'll be the driver), some national park or outdoorsy stuff, and then a few days in Bainbridge Island just relaxing. We'll be flying from the east coast and adjusting to a time difference, and have 10 days in the area. We decided to make a family vacay out of it, and will be traveling with myself, who will be 5 mos pregnant, our 3 yr old, my husband, and the in-laws. My in-laws (active, 70 yr olds) best friends are throwing a 50th wedding anniversary party in Hansville, Washington. Hi all, I am overwhelmed by the information out there and was hoping for some help and tips. ![]()
